Wedding Theme
Note: We’re not really going to be sticklers when it comes to sticking to the theme, but we politely request that the minimum dress code is dressy-casual.
Main Theme
Wear Your Fanciest Outfit
Please?
Like this, but in a barn
Do you have amazing clothing just sitting in your closet with nowhere to show it off? Here’s your chance!
Come dressed in your shiniest ballgown, your three piece tuxedo, that amazing lehenga you picked up in India, your favorite silk shirt and ascot, your victorian gown that you only get to wear at Renaissance festivals… even your wedding dress.
That’s right. I said it. WEAR THE DRESS.
Seriously.
Both of us love to dress up, and think it’s a right shame that so many wonderful things just end up sitting in closets, because there aren't appropriate events to which they can be worn. This is that event!
None of that “but, I can’t overshadow the bride/groom!” nonsense. Our photographer knows who we are. He’s not going to get confused. Just come, and have fun.
Secondary Theme / Color Palette
Rainbows + Wildflowers
but not glitter - it isn’t allowed in the barn (sad)
Tom Petty isn’t the only one who gets to dictate who belongs among the wildflowers. I’m the bride, this is my wedding, and I get to decide.
So, who do I think belongs among them?
EVERYONE.
Seriously, though. There’s nothing I (Katie) love more than bright, vibrant colors, springtime, wildflowers (ok, all flowers), and rainbows (and amazing food, and cake) — we’re going to try and pack as much of that into one day as we can!
The wedding arch will be arranged in the proper rainbow order, and the tables will be adored with fun bouquets made with flowers from a local flower farm (and our yard, if we’re lucky)!
(Don’t worry. Oliver is also onboard with all of this.)
