Wedding “Registry”

We discovered early on that we both share a love of stuff, and finding a great deal. Between Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, garage sales, free piles, and various auction sites, we have spent the past 7+ years amassing more things than our house currently has the functional capacity to hold*. Do we have a storage unit full of old sewing machines and vintage lamp parts (ok, and some other things)? Of course we do. Would you regret asking Katie to point out all of the items in the house that she thrifted? Probably (unless you’ve got some time).
All of the items on our collective “wish list” are pretty big, and most of them have to do with fixing/improving things in and around our house and yard. Some of these things are aesthetic (e.g. painting), some are structural/functional (e.g. replacing windows and siding), and some are necessary for the future goal of adding a small human to our household.

It is for these reasons that we have decided to forgo a traditional registry. Heck, we’re really just going to be excited to see everyone who can make it! Gifts are absolutely not necessary, or expected.

If you're curious about the details of some of our (mis)adventures in homeownership, or what we hope to accomplish in the future, we've included these on a separate page. (This page will be active soon!)

If you would like to contribute a little something to celebrate our nuptials, and our life going forward as a married couple, we would be honored. In lieu of an actual registry, may we suggest the following:

  • A cash contribution that will get put into our joint high yield savings account

    • This can be done through Venmo, PayPal, or in person (we will have a box for cards at the wedding!). Feel free to contact us if you have questions!

  • Goods/Services

    • Do you do an art? Do you make neat things? Do you run a business? If you would like to gift us something you made, or your time and expertise, we would be overjoyed.

  • Etc…

    • Yeah, we said we had stuff, but we also love stuff. If you have something in mind that you want to get for us, please feel free to do so.

* This house was not well thought out. There’s a lot of wasted space that’s currently unusable, and not a lot of storage. Changing this is part of our goal in a future remodel.
